House Ag Committee to hold hearing on agricultural biotechnology

The U.S. House Committee on Agriculture Subcommittee on Rural Development, Research, Biotechnology, and Foreign Agriculture will hold a public hearing on Thursday, June 23, to review the opportunities and benefits of agricultural biotechnology.

Testifying at the hearing will be three witnesses:

The Honorable Charles F. Conner, President and Chief Executive Officer, National Council of Farmer Cooperatives; and President, National Coalition for Food and Agriculture Research (testimony)
Roger N. Beachy, President Emeritus, Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, and former Director, USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (testimony)
Calestous Juma, Professor of the Practice of International Development, Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (testimony)
