Just Announced! Plenary speaker Marty Yanofsky from UC San Diego will discuss Genetic Control of Fruit Development in Arabidopsis.
The Western Section meeting will be held February 26-27, 2011 at California State University, Long Beach. The meeting will begin at 9 am on Saturday morning, and finish by Noon on Sunday. The plenary speaker will be Marty Yanofsky from UC San Diego, who will discuss genetic control of fruit development in Arabidopsis. This is a great opportunity for graduate students and post-docs to present their work, and awards will be given for best posters and student presentations.
A block of rooms have been reserved at The Pacific Inn in Seal Beach, a 5 minute drive to campus. For those not driving to the meeting, the hotel will provide shuttle service to campus. On Saturday evening, there will be a dinner at The Yucatan Grill which is located across the street from the hotel. The registration cost for the meeting is $50. Participants need to contact The Pacific Inn (firstname.lastname@example.org, or 866-466-0300) to reserve hotel rooms at the conference price of $114.90 per night. Be sure to let them know that you are part of the Western ASPB conference. Registration and hotel reservations must be done before February 1, and abstracts are due on February 14.
Travel grants for up to $250 will be available to cover the cost of the meeting.
