Plant Biologist Elected as Home Secretary of National Academy of Sciences
Susan Wessler is first woman to hold position
ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Plant biologist Susan R. Wessler has been elected as home secretary of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). In this role, Wessler will oversee the academy's membership activities and serve as secretary of its governing council. When her four-year term begins on July 1, she will be the first woman to serve in the role.
